Use chat -p to send one prompt, print the reply, and exit. It never opens the TUI, runs under plain Node, and works without a TTY, so it fits scripts, pipes, and CI.

One-shot prompts

Read the prompt from stdin by giving -p no value:
--agent takes an id, slug, or name. It is optional when your account has exactly one agent.

JSON output

Add --json for structured output you can parse:
The JSON includes the reply and a messageId. Re-fetch that reply later with skydive messages get.

Continuing a conversation

Each -p call starts a new conversation by default. To keep context across calls, pass the conversation id back in:
Get the id from the previous call’s --json output.

Auth for non-interactive use

Print mode never opens an interactive sign-in. In CI or scripts, authenticate ahead of time:
  • Run skydive auth login --web once on the machine, or
  • Set the SKYDIVE_SESSION_TOKEN environment variable.

Sharing your machine for a run

With -p, the --share-machine flag grants the target agent access to this machine for that run, so it can execute local commands as part of the task:
