myagent.skydive.app. If you want it on a domain you own, say app.yourcompany.com, you can connect one in a couple of minutes.
Custom domains are rolling out to workspaces gradually. If you don’t see the option yet, it hasn’t reached your workspace.
Where to set it up
Open your agent’s profile, find the Connections card, and open the site address settings (the ”…” menu on the Website URL row). Choose Set up a custom domain. An agent has one site address at a time. When a custom domain is live, it replaces theskydive.app label; remove the custom domain and the agent falls back to its skydive.app address automatically.
Setting up the domain
Enter your host (for exampleapp.yourcompany.com) and choose how to add the DNS records:
Set up automatically is the default. You sign in to your DNS provider (Namecheap, GoDaddy, and others) through a secure dialog, and the records get written for you. When it finishes, Skydive verifies the domain on its own. If automatic setup is unavailable, you’ll see a message saying so and can use the manual path instead.
Set up manually shows you the records to publish at your registrar:
- A
TXTrecord that proves you own the zone. - A
CNAMEthat sends visitors to your agent. At an apex domain (likeyourcompany.com), what Skydive asks for depends on your DNS provider: where the provider supports CNAME flattening, you publish a singleCNAMEat the root; where it doesn’t, you getArecords instead. AwwwCNAME is included either way sowww.yourcompany.comserves the site instead of your registrar’s parking page.
While DNS propagates
After the records are in place, the modal re-checks every 15 seconds while it’s open. Each record row reports its own status, so you can see which records DNS has picked up and which are still missing. The overall banner keeps waiting until the hostname is fully active (which can trail the individual records), then verifies the TLS certificate. If you close the modal or reload the page mid-setup, your progress is saved and the next check picks the flow back up. DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours to appear, depending on your provider. If verification fails right after publishing records, give it a few minutes and verify again.Troubleshooting
- “Automatic setup is unavailable right now”: the automatic flow couldn’t be reached. Use Set up manually and publish the records yourself.
- Verification stuck on the TXT record: some registrars cache DNS misses for up to an hour, so a freshly published record can stay invisible to verification for a while. Wait and verify again.
www.yourdomain.comshows an old page: thewwwCNAME wasn’t published or still points at the registrar’s default. Update it to the same value as the main record.- A green record in your registrar but the modal still shows it missing: re-run the setup and it re-checks everything, including records that were missing from the first pass.
- Every record row shows valid but the banner still says waiting: the row statuses read live DNS, while the overall check waits until the hostname is active at the serving layer, which can lag the records by a bit. Give it a few minutes.
