Two ways to connect
Contentful now runs a hosted MCP server with two regional endpoints: global (mcp.contentful.com) and EU (mcp.eu.contentful.com). The platform connects you to the global endpoint by default.- Contentful MCP (recommended). Connect Contentful’s MCP server once and the agent can read and publish entries, manage assets, inspect content types. See Connect with MCP.
- Contentful OAuth. The original sign-in integration, scoped to what you grant. See Connect with OAuth.

Publish and unpublish entries and assets.

Add the Contentful connection
From the agent’s connections, choose Contentful. The platform connects you through Contentful’s MCP server.

Sign in to Contentful
A connect card appears. Sign in to your Contentful account and approve.

The agent gets to work
It can now read and publish entries, manage assets, inspect content types through the MCP server.

Connect with OAuth
What you share
During the connect flow you authorize what the agent can reach. It works only within what you grant. As with every connection, the underlying token is handled securely and never exposed to the model. See Permissioning.1
Authorize Contentful for the agent
From the agent’s connections, choose Contentful and sign in.

Confirm what the agent can reach. You can change this later.

It works through the secure proxy, within what you granted.
