What you share

Paper’s MCP server works with the file currently open in Paper Desktop. It can read the design and make live changes when you ask, including moving, restyling, or deleting layers. Paper uses Portal, so connecting it grants that agent access to your computer, not only Paper. Portal is off until you approve it for the agent, and you can revoke access at any time. No Paper password or token is shared.

Connecting

1

Install the desktop apps

Install Paper Desktop and Skydive Desktop. You can use the Skydive CLI instead of Skydive Desktop.
2

Open a Paper file

Open the file you want the agent to use. Paper starts its local MCP server while the file is open.
3

Choose an agent

Open Integrations in Skydive and choose Paper. Select an agent, then click Go to chat.
4

Approve Portal access

Approve the agent’s request in Skydive Desktop. The agent finds Paper’s local server and completes the connection.
