Two ways to connect
Productboard now runs a hosted MCP server. Connect it and your agent can pull and update spec content directly, without copy-pasting.- Productboard MCP (recommended). Connect Productboard’s MCP server once and the agent can read and update product specs, search features, post comments on specs. See Connect with MCP.
- Productboard OAuth. The original sign-in integration, scoped to what you grant. See Connect with OAuth.
What the agent can do
Read specs
Pull the current content of any spec your account can reach.
Search features
Find features and initiatives by name, owner, or tag.
Update specs
Propose and apply edits to spec content.
Post comments
Add questions or updates directly on a spec.

Add the Productboard connection
From the agent’s connections, choose Productboard. The platform connects you through Productboard’s MCP server.

Sign in to Productboard
A connect card appears. Sign in to your Productboard account and approve.

The agent gets to work
It can now read and update product specs, search features, post comments on specs through the MCP server.

Connect with OAuth
What you share
During the connect flow you authorize what the agent can reach. It works only within what you grant. As with every connection, the underlying token is handled securely and never exposed to the model. See Permissioning.1
Authorize Productboard for the agent
From the agent’s connections, choose Productboard and sign in.

Confirm what the agent can reach. You can change this later.
